Round Two
The second round of the Rug Racers Championship would provide a fast and demanding track for all the drivers in their respective classes. The track would prove to be low in traction at the start of the day making it difficult for all classes, so it was purely down to driver talent and control over those sticks. The track would see plenty of punishment throughout the day, but Malcolm Hall and the Hertfordshire club did a superb job of maintaining it to ensure that it was in good condition for each race and the presence of national A finalists Adam Rogers, Chris Kerswell and Rob Fox would ensure that the racing would be fast.

Qualifying

27turn

The top qualifiers Brian Shardlow and Adam Smith were close in qualifying separated by 0.7 seconds, with Dave Ringsall and Matthew Worton equally as close taking up fourth and fifth respectively on the grid. The fight for pole position was between Brian and Adam the entire day, with the pair of them being five seconds in front of the rest of the field and proving to be the cream of the 27 turn field.

19turn

Close qualifying was the order of the day from the offset with Christopher Delves, Rob Fox and Steve Lisamore all competing for the top qualifying spot! In the end Rob Fox took TQ setting a pace that would put him second in modified showing the speed and pace of this stock class; Christopher Delves was a close second and Steve Lissamore in third all covered by less than two seconds, and Chris Kerswell put his Corally in fourth after a torrid day to complete a Corally lock out of the top four positions.

Rob Fox took TQ and won in 19 turn.

    Modified

National A-finalist Adam Rogers took pole for the A final with his Mi2 Shumacher. Not surprisingly he proved to be untouchable throughout the day despite some problems in the final qualifier in which he had to take a seat and watch the proceedings. Kit Jones put a solid qualifying time in, in the final round to give him the second spot grid, qualifying only three seconds behind Adam; Rich White made fourth on the grid with Brian Eldridge close behind him.
  Adam Rogers was dominant all
weekend in Modified.

Adam Smith's Corally was second
fastest in 27 turn.
Kit Jones put a solid run in Modified to put his car second on the grid.
