Round One

Round one of the series was quite a nervous time for some of the organisers having never been a part of running a race meeting before. A new club starting a larger series is always a worrying time but without exception all the competitors had a great days racing and plenty of it. Four rounds of qualification and two finals ensured everyone had more than enough track time and there was a real spirited atmosphere around the track.
Supported by Colin Bliss models all of the racers needs were catered for with spares back-up and the sale of the 24R VTEC controlled pre mounted tyre for the series.

19 Turn

As seems to be becoming the norm the 19T class had the largest entry and one of a very high standard. Christopher Delves held on after the four rounds to secure TQ with Rob Fox a very close second and Stuart Cann third. In the finals Christopher and Rob shared the honours but the split decision went in favour of the Corally RDX driver of Mr Delves.

1 Chris Delves
2 Rob Fox
3 Dave Saul
4 Jon Fletcher
5 Richard Thorpe
6 Steve Moore
7 Steve Lissamore
8 Stuart Cann
9 Wayne Palmer
10 Malcolm Hall
Modified

In modified it turned out to be a one man show all day. Adam Rogers driving a Schumacher and powered by LRP products ruled the track and made it his own. Winning all four rounds of qualification and both A finals you can say not a bad day at the office.

1 Adam Rogers
2 Kit Jones
3 Rich White
4 Mark Wilson
5 Brian Eldridge
6 Richard King
7 Marcus Trofimov
8 Dave Ringsall
9 Keith Helmke

27 Turn

The 27t class is still fighting fit and again very strongly attended with some great close racing as always. Getting TQ in this class is always a well achieved task but will never guarantee the win due to the level of competition and close racing. Adam Smith proved to be the best after the four rounds of qualifying but just didn't get the rub of the carpet in the finals ending up down in fifth position even after he won leg 1 leading from start to finish. Matthew Morton after only finishing in fourth place in the first leg drove a great race to win the second leg and the overall victory. Dave Ringsal a determined old racer in the local area summed up just about everything he had in reserve to get second overall and Brian Shardlow rounded out the top three with two consistent performances.

1 Matthew Worton
2 Dave Ringsall
3 Brian Shardlow
4 Dave Ledger
5 Adam Smith
6 Philip Randall
7 Jeremy Stephens
8 Steve Henry
9 Colin Witt
10 Mark Fitzsimmons
