19 Turn
The fist round would be TQ’d by Helger Racing team driver Rob Fox with a near faultless run, with the rest of the top ten making plenty of mistakes costing them big on time. All change for the second round with Chris Kerswell taking Rob’s top spot and then Nathan snatching pole position off of Chris in the final round of qualifying. But could Nathan finally turn this pole position into a win? Fabien Simonini yet again put his car third on the grid with another strong performance in qualifying and Ricky Copsey took fourth place starting to show his true speed and pace. A good performance from Andy Robson put him seventh on the grid in front of Christopher Delves who had trouble throughout the day. Richard Thorpe put in a good qualifying time placing himself behind his fellow teammate in ninth. |

The big surprise in qualifying was Mark Stiles, who failed to make the final after having troubles with his car through the day. This would most certainly change the shape of the championship.

Leg 1
Into the first corner the pack managed to get through fairly cleanly with only a couple of drivers making mistakes and losing time. The main carnage came in front of the rostrum where a lot of people clipped the chicane and flew off to the other side of the track. Nathan Parker was just one of the drivers that did so and was instantly demoted right to the back of the pack! Because of this mistake Chris Kerswell took up the top spot immediately running away with it generating a seven second lead over second place man. Christopher Delves, from the back of the grid, was slowly working his way up the field after finally finding a more balanced set up. Working his way up to Fabien Simonini in second, for a little while it looked like Christopher would challenge for second, but a small error going onto the straight would allow Fabien to extend his lead and secure second place. Third place was then quickly lost to Chris Condon who had tucked down the inside after Christopher went very wide on one corner and then Rob Fox joined in from fifth, and the two team mates raced hard in the last minute! The pair would race to the line, with Christopher taking fourth by 0.3 seconds!

Leg 2
Christopher Delves and Richard Thorpe were the first corner casualties this time, the pair rejoining the race dead last. In the meanwhile, Nathan Parker and Chris Kerswell raced on, but on the third lap a small mistake from Nathan handed Chris the lead which he extended and maintained to the end giving him the overall victory in this class. Chris Condon retired early, which after a good performance in the 1st leg unfortunately ended his chance of finishing in the top three. There were many mistakes by a lot of the drivers in this race, which allowed Ricky Copsey to take up second and Christopher Delves third, who once again worked his way up from the back. Nathan had made a few mistakes which had dropped him back, but he worked his way back up to behind Christopher where he pushed for the last podium spot. Nathan waited and Christopher made a small mistake which handed Nathan third. But this wasn’t the end and Christopher chased him hard to try and regain third place. Once again though Rob Fox was sitting on Christopher’s tail, and the three were covered by a little over 1.5 seconds at the end of the race. |
